Article A, An, The in English Grammar

Article কী?
An article is a word used before a noun to show whether the noun is general or specific.

Article noun-এর আগে বসে noun সম্পর্কে extra information দেয়। English-এ article মূলত তিনটি: a, an, এবং the.

A singular countable noun-এর আগে বসে, যখন noun-এর শুরুতে consonant sound থাকে।

An singular countable noun-এর আগে বসে, যখন noun-এর শুরুতে vowel sound থাকে।
The

A/an ব্যবহারের সময় spelling নয়, pronunciation বা sound গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।
a university ✅ — কারণ university “you” sound দিয়ে শুরু।
an honest man ✅ — কারণ honest-এর h silent.
A/An শুধু Singular Countable Noun-এর আগে
A/an সাধারণত singular countable noun-এর আগে বসে। Plural বা uncountable noun-এর আগে a/an বসে না।

যখন noun নির্দিষ্ট, already mentioned, unique বা listener জানে কোনটা বলা হচ্ছে, তখন the ব্যবহৃত হয়।

Zero Article
কিছু ক্ষেত্রে noun-এর আগে কোনো article বসে না। বিশেষ করে general plural noun, uncountable noun, language, subject, meal name ইত্যাদিতে article না-ও বসতে পারে।
