Parts of Speech কী?

Parts of Speech হলো words-এর category বা class. একটি sentence-এ প্রতিটি word আলাদা কাজ করে।

English sentence বানাতে শুধু word জানলেই হবে না। Word sentence-এ কী কাজ করছে সেটাও বুঝতে হবে। যেমন:

Rahim reads a beautiful book quickly.

এই sentence-এ Rahim হলো noun, reads হলো verb, beautiful হলো adjective, book হলো noun, এবং quickly হলো adverb.

Noun

Noun হলো কোনো ব্যক্তি, স্থান, বস্তু, প্রাণী বা ধারণার নাম।

Examples: Rahim, school, pen, honesty, Bangladesh

Pronoun

Pronoun হলো noun-এর পরিবর্তে ব্যবহৃত word, যাতে একই noun বারবার repeat করতে না হয়।

Rahim is a student. He studies English. Here, He = Rahim.

Verb

Verb হলো sentence-এর action বা state. Verb ছাড়া sentence সাধারণত complete হয় না।

I eat rice. She is happy. They play football.

Adjective

Adjective noun বা pronoun সম্পর্কে quality, quantity, size, color বা condition বলে।

A beautiful flower. Five books. A small room.

Adverb

Adverb সাধারণত verb, adjective বা অন্য adverb সম্পর্কে extra information দেয়।

He runs quickly. She is very happy. I came yesterday.

Word-এর কাজ না বুঝলে sentence ভুল হয়ে যায়।

Agree একটি verb, adjective নয়। তাই am দরকার নেই।

She is beautifully. ❌

Subject-এর quality বলতে adjective লাগে: beautiful.

He speaks English good. ❌

He speaks English well. ✅

Verb describe করতে adverb লাগে: well.

The book is in the table. ❌

The book is on the table. ✅

Surface-এর ওপর বোঝাতে on ব্যবহার হয়।
