Future Perfect Continuous Tense in English Grammar

Future Perfect Continuous Tense কী?

Future Perfect Continuous Tense is used to show that an action will have been continuing for a period of time before a specific time or another action in the future.

Previous Lesson-এর সাথে Connection

Lesson #26-এ আপনি Future Perfect Tense শিখেছেন, যার structure হলো will have + V3 এবং এটি future-এর কোনো সময়ের আগেই কাজ complete হয়ে যাবে বোঝায়। Future Perfect Continuous Tense completion নয়, বরং duration/process focus করে। অর্থাৎ future-এর কোনো সময়ের আগে কাজটি কতক্ষণ ধরে চলতে থাকবে—এটি বোঝায়।

Future Perfect Continuous Tense-এর main structure হলো Subject + will have been + V-ing. এখানে will have been সব subject-এর সাথে একই থাকে এবং main verb-এর সাথে -ing যোগ হয়।

I will have been studying for two hours by 8 pm.
She will have been working since morning by the time we arrive.
They will have been waiting for thirty minutes before the bus comes.
We will have been learning grammar for many weeks by the end of this series.

Positive	Subject + will have been + V-ing + Object + since/for	I will have been studying for two hours by 8 pm.	রাত ৮টার মধ্যে আমি দুই ঘণ্টা ধরে পড়তে থাকব।
Negative	Subject + will not have been + V-ing	She will not have been working for long.	সে বেশি সময় ধরে কাজ করতে থাকবে না।
Question	Will + Subject + have been + V-ing?	Will they have been waiting for long?	তারা কি অনেকক্ষণ ধরে অপেক্ষা করতে থাকবে?
Wh-Question	Wh-word + will + Subject + have been + V-ing?	How long will you have been learning English?	তুমি কতদিন ধরে English শিখতে থাকবে?
Before Future Action	Future Perfect Continuous + before + Present Simple	We will have been practicing before the exam starts.	Exam শুরু হওয়ার আগে আমরা practice করতে থাকব।

Very Important Rule

Future Perfect Continuous Tense-এ main structure সবসময় will have been + V-ing. Correct: I will have been studying. Wrong: I will have studying / I will have been study.

এই tense ঠিকভাবে ব্যবহার করতে will have been, V-ing, since/for, by এবং future deadline clear করতে হবে।

Basic Rule

Future perfect continuous tense-এর structure হলো Subject + will have been + V-ing.

I will have been reading.
She will have been working.
They will have been waiting.

Will Have Been + V-ing Rule

সব subject-এর সাথে will have been ব্যবহার হয় এবং এর পরে main verb V-ing হয়।

I will have been studying.
He will have been studying.
They will have been studying.
We will have been studying.

Since / For Rule

Since starting point বোঝায়। For duration বোঝায়। Future perfect continuous tense-এ duration বোঝাতে since/for খুব important.

since morning, since 2026, since Monday
for two hours, for five years, for a long time
By 10 pm, she will have been working for six hours.
By next year, I will have been learning English since 2024.

By / Before Rule

By future deadline বোঝায়। Before বা by the time অন্য future action-এর আগে duration বোঝায়।

By 8 pm, I will have been studying for two hours.
Before the class starts, we will have been waiting for ten minutes.
By the time you arrive, I will have been cooking for an hour.

Future Perfect vs Future Perfect Continuous

Future perfect completion/result focus করে। Future perfect continuous duration/process focus করে।

I will have finished the lesson by 8 pm. = result complete
I will have been studying for two hours by 8 pm. = duration/process
She will have written three pages. = quantity/result
She will have been writing for an hour. = duration

Stative Verbs Usually Avoid Continuous

Know, believe, like, love, understand, own, need—এই ধরনের stative verbs সাধারণত continuous form-এ ব্যবহার হয় না।

By next year, I will have known him for five years. ✅
By next year, I will have been knowing him for five years. ❌
She will have liked English for many years. ✅
She will have been liking English for many years. ❌

এই tense-এ learnersরা will have been, V-ing, since/for এবং future perfect confusion নিয়ে বেশি ভুল করে।

Been-এর পরে main verb V-ing হবে।

Duration বোঝাতে for ব্যবহার হয়।
